This annual event is a highlight of the Potchefstroom social calendar, featuring the Potjiekos Competition and the Beer Mile. Participants of all ages are welcome, whether competing, sampling, or cheering from the sidelines.

Potjiekos Competition

Teams can showcase their culinary skills in the Potjiekos Competition, judged on taste, presentation, and creativity.

Prizes Include:

• Tastiest Pot
• Best Spirit
• Best Decorations

Entry Fees:

• Potjiekos: R300 per pot
• Potjie Plate (for tasting): R50

Bring your secret family recipe or try something new — the goal is fun, community, and support for a good cause. There will also be spot prizes to reward participants for creativity and enthusiasm.

Beer Mile Challenge

For those who love a bit of action, the Beer Mile offers an exciting race experience. Participants can enter individually or in teams.

Entry Fees:

• Team of 4: R500
• Individual: R150

Test your speed, stamina, and sense of fun while helping raise funds for Amelia Aftercare Centre, providing safe, supportive care and enriching activities for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

In addition to competitions, attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food and toiletries to help fill a Mahindra S6 bakkie for Amelia Aftercare Centre. Donations can also be dropped off at Eastvaal Multi Franchise Potchefstroom. Every contribution supports the well-being and development of residents at Amelia, helping fund workshops, medical care, and social activities.
